Location: Scottsdale, AZ
As I mentioned previously, I've been stuck at home this week taking care of a visiting standard poodle-puppy hence I've not been able to do any nighttime photography.
I can, however, photograph around my house and yard, so I decided this week is a good time to evaluate how well my new-to-me camera will serve when used as a digital version of Hasselblad's legendary, panoramic, rangefinder focusing, 65:24 format, 35mm film camera, which is the late and great XPan.
This is possible because it has a 65:24 crop mode built-in. This should come as no surprise, though, as it was Fuji that actually designed the XPan camera and lenses for Hasselblad and they even sold their own versions outside of the U.S. market (which is why they were never common here.)
This photo was taken at the end of my driveway using a 70s era Contax 18/4 lens. This provides roughly the same field of view as the XPan's (now scarce and expensive) 30 mm lens and IMO, it works very well indeed, aside from a small amount of vignetting in the farthest corners of the frame.
