After adding an update to my previous post explaining that I've been taking a break from photography in an effort to get my sleep schedule back on track, I found myself awake at 2:30 am this morning and decided to brave the cold (mid-40s ... brrrr) to do some photography.
As coincidence had it, I'd borrowed again my friend's "magic camera" -- you know, the one that can almost see in the dark -- and took advantage of this capability to take this photo, which has heretofore been impossible to take using my present camera. That's because when I point it at this scene, all I see on the LCD is pure black, making it impossible to compose and focus a photo.
With this camera, however, I was not only able to compose and focus a photo fairly easily, I was able to keep the shutter open long enough to capture sufficient light using a single, eight-minute exposure -- ! -- without suffering of excessive noise. As I said, this has previously been an insurmountable obstacle for me, yet this camera managed to turn night into day with ease ... wow!
