Yes, this is another "test photo," taken last night a few doors down the street from my house. I had an opportunity to spend the weekend using a camera having a 102 MP sensor and couldn't resist putting it through its paces with some of my nighttime photography.
One of the toughest challenges I face when photographing at night is composing and focusing a photo in the dark. Historically, this has been the undoing of many otherwise very fine camera bodies and lenses, but such was not the case this time around.
Perhaps even more impressive than this camera's high-resolution sensor was its ability to see an additional four or even five -- Yes, five! -- stops into the darkness compared to my present camera body and lenses. At times, it was as if I was wearing nightvision goggles, so bright and clear were the scenes I saw displayed on its LCD!
While my modest, amateur photographic efforts don't need anywhere close to 102 MP of resolution, being able to see that much farther into the darkness has the potential to revolutionize my approach to nighttime photography...
So much so, in fact, that it's for this feature alone that I am seriously considering stumping up the cash to buy one of these camera bodies even though for my purposes, it's overkill many times over and not very budget-friendly...
A much larger, higher resolution version of this photo can be seen here: https://i.imgur.com/Ivf8FsR.jpg
UPDATE: I've been suffering of a screwed-up sleep schedule for the past week or so, which is usually a good thing for my nighttime photography. Not this time, though, so I'm taking a break for a bit while I try to get my sleep back on track ... thanks for your patience!
