For the benefit of those who are visiting this page for the first time, I've been experimenting with photographing in infrared light since last fall. To that end, I modified one of my cameras by removing the infrared-blocking filter that was mounted ahead of the sensor by the camera's manufacturer and I now install various bandpass filters on the lens instead, which will allow only certain frequencies of infrared light to pass through and reach the sensor.

This is why these photos have a heavy red tint and also why the colors sometimes look truly screwy. But IMO, it makes for an interesting effect and I'm enjoying learning how to master it, because it can be rather unpredictable on occasion, which is half the fun! 8^)
