As (too) often happens to me, I was photographing this scene at precisely the moment the owners of the house and a couple of visiting friends returned from a morning walk.

Naturally, they were curious about what I was doing and why, but unlike many (most?) homeowners, they didn't approach me in a confrontational manner, but a friendly one.

So instead of telling them to get stuffed, I showed them my photo and explained this scene had caught my eye because it's uncommon in this area to see a freestanding flag pole on residential property. Also, it was cool the moon was still visible so late in the morning. 8^)

And with that, we bid each other a good day and went on our respective ways. It sure would be nice if all of my encounters with homeowners were this pleasant, but that's pie-in-the-sky, wishful thinking, I'm sure.
