It is still early days yet for this project, but I continue to make progress creating the "look" I want to achieve for this series of photos. With this photo, taken Friday morning, I think I'm now fairly close to the one I will ultimately settle on going forward. (And if all my photos look basically the same to you, don't worry, as the tweaks I'm making are a small matter of degrees here and there -- just a point or two on a slider -- hence are likely visible only in a high-res print-on-paper (not -- gack! -- canvas or metal!) and certainly not as low-res .jpgs viewed online. Yes, for better and worse, I am that particular about such things!)
It's also clear to me this project has "legs," because even when I photograph the same trees, from the same angle, using the same lens, the final, finished photos will look very different owing to the changing light and cloud patterns -- or lack thereof! -- in the sky. Palm fronds being what they are, even a mild breeze has the potential to change my photos quite significantly!
P.S.: For the first time going back as far as I can remember, I'm now taking photos more quickly than I can process and actually have a backlog of them developing. This bodes well for not running out of trees to photograph, which is usually how my projects lose momentum, begin to wither, and ultimately die. <sigh>
