America the Beautiful...

This past Thursday morning, I spotted this scene while Miss Abby was walking me alongside the Salt River Indian Reservation. (That's how she perceived it, anyway!)

It always annoys me whenever I see trash left to rot in the desert and this time was no exception. At least in this instance, most of the trash is composed of wood, which will decompose relatively quickly when it's spread on the ground, where it's within easy reach of termites -- in this area, it's not a question of if termites attack your house, but when! -- and exposed to the elements.

Still, there's no good reason for leaving this unsightly mess here to recycle itself instead of helping it along. <sigh>
