New River riparian area

The New River runs alongside the outdoor shopping mall I was exploring this past Friday and there is an elevated, paved, multi-use path that runs alongside it.

To my surprise, there was a fair amount of water flowing through the river when I was there -- I'm not certain, but I believe this was the first time I've ever seen more than a trickle of water flowing -- and the vegetation on either side was very thick and very green as a result, as this photo clearly shows.

On the other side of the river is a large school bus storage depot and maintenance yard, and the two radio towers connect it with the buses while they're out-and-about running their routes.

I liked how the sun had broken through the clouds and spotlighted the building on the left, as well as the rightmost radio tower. As often happens, though, soon after I took this photo, the gap in the clouds closed and the gorgeous light that inspired me to take what would have been an otherwise very ordinary, ho-hum photo slowly faded away...
