I will spare my visitors any more IR photos for a while (but Yes, I am still taking them, so they will return now and then.)

Whenever I am out with a camera -- which is pretty much whenever I leave the house these days -- I always keep an eye open for interesting textures and/or patterns regardless of my primary subject.

I spotted this scene when I stopped to re-tie an errant shoelace while Miss Abby and I were walking on a nearby multi-use trail early in the day, when the sun was still hanging low in the sky.

In particular, I like how, upon first glance, the shadows can make the footprints and tire tracks appear to be raised above the surface instead of recessed into it. An optical illusion, of sorts.
