I really, really like this photo as it is, but I would like it even better if I had been able to compose it slightly differently. Unfortunately, I had no choice about the composition, because this is the only angle that allowed me to hide the porch light centered behind the pillar.

If I had aimed the camera any further to the left or the right, the circle of illumination from the light would have been unequal side to side, which I find distracting. And if I didn't hide the light behind the pillar, it would have blown-out completely and turned into a big, ugly, white blob and also caused any number of issues with flare and, IMO, ruin the photo.

Fortunately, as compromises go, I think this composition ended up being more than just minimally acceptable. 8^)
