Sometimes, one need not look any further than one's own backyard to find a photo.
For example, this photo was taken at 5:44 pm on Monday, November 21st, while I was standing just outside the sliding-door that opens to the patio on the west side of the house. In my underwear, no less.
I had just returned from taking Miss Abby for a long walk and took a quick shower before dinner. As I walked back from the bathroom to my east-facing bedroom, I saw a brightly glowing, pink-and-blue sky through the bedroom window.
I immediately realized what this meant, so I grabbed a camera and ran across the house to my sister's bedroom on the west side. I then opened the sliding door and stepped outside, framed this photo, and took three shots as I fiddled with the exposure setting. It was just a few seconds later when the light started to fade; in fact, it pretty much fizzled-out completely over the next 30 seconds or so, and I didn't even try to take any more photos after the first three.
When I looked at the photos on my computer later that evening, I noticed the crescent moon in the lower-left corner. I hadn't seen it when I composed the photo, but sometimes one gets lucky, eh?
