Stairway to...

I'm sorry, but I just can't bring myself to type the word "heaven." <shrugs>

I like this photo enough that I will probably try to redo it using a longer lens at some point, because this crop's perhaps a bit too tight for my taste. Mind you, it's not exactly bad as it is, but upon reflection, it's also not as good as it can be with a slightly wider field of view.

Alas, I didn't have any choice, because moving the camera back further caused massive amounts of flare from the streetlight just out of the frame to the right that's illuminating the scene. And because I was using a wide-angle lens, there was no way for me to flag the light, either, because the flag I carry around with me (an 18x24 piece of black foam-core board) ended up in the photo once I had it positioned to block the stray and/or unwanted light.

Using a longer lens will let me to back up even further still, as well as narrow the lens' field of view so I can flag the streetlight effectively and, with a bit of luck, keep it out of the photo.
