Abby and I headed out earlier than usual this past Tuesday night (~9:30 pm, as I recall), searching for more saguaro cacti to photograph. Unfortunately, I struck out and didn't photograph any.

Well, sort of: I did find several interesting saguaros, but the traffic was too heavy between 10:30-11:30 pm for me to safely setup my camera in the road and take photos using a long exposure, as I usually do. So I noted their locations and will try again another night, when I'm out later (or earlier, depending upon your perspective.)

Fortunately, I didn't return home completely empty-handed. I've photographed this scene before, although not from this angle or with the tree branches as full as they are now. When choosing scenes to photograph, I'm drawn to dueling textures and for this reason, the shadows falling across the stucco wall and gravel, juxtaposed against the leaves on the tree branches, naturally caught my eye.
