Here is another photo from one of my recent hikography outings. This time, however, it is of another, larger wash that was taken while I was hiking in the rain. It wasn't that I wanted to get soaking wet, but that I wanted to photograph the desert under this gorgeous, soft, hazy light -- believe it or not, but after a while, beautiful blue skies become deadly dull and boring! -- and getting soaking wet was simply the price I had to pay for doing so.
Not surprisingly, mine was the only car parked at the trailhead when I arrived and when I left, so I was likely all alone for a change (although I did come across some bare footprints on one muddy trail, which either means that some nut-job was hiking barefoot or wearing a pair of hiking shoes that have individual toes ... or, I suppose, I encountered the tracks left by a hitherto unknown, desert-dwelling Bigfoot or "Abominable Mudman," as a friend jokingly put it.) But I think it was well worth it, as I brought home some decent photos, including this one.
