A few weeks ago, a few hours after it had stopped raining, a high-school kid lost control of his parents' Lexus, went off the road, and hit the cinder block wall behind my house, punching a hole through it. I do not know how he managed to lose control of the car, but he was tested three times for driving while impaired and wasn't arrested, so I assume the cause was something else. I didn't speak with him and in fact, the police sargent (the woman to the left of the officer with "police" written on his jacket) threatened me with arrest if I did not move back from the scene after she saw me taking this photograph. When I asked her why I was being removed from the scene, but passersby were allowed to walk up to and around the car, I was told that my presence was making the kid nervous ... go figure.

P.S.: As I look at this photo again, it reminds me generally of Gregory Crewdson's staged scenes (although it's not in color nor nearly as well lit!) 8^)
