Incredibly, it has been nearly five years since I posted my first photo here ... time flies, eh? While I appreciate the many thoughtful comments about my photos that have been left, I have an urge to do something a bit different with how I display them going forward. As I write this, I'm not sure what this means or how/where they'll be seen, but I do know that I would like to do something more project- or theme-oriented than posting random, single photos day after day (which, frankly, had started to feel too much like a chore, and I'll bet that you don't enjoy doing chores any more than I do!) In part, this is because I believe my photos work better when they are viewed collectively as a series than individually, plus I'd also like to provide more context around them (via expanded, more in-depth narratives than the brief blurbs I was writing here.) But everything is still very much up in the air, so I don't have any definitive plans I can share just yet.

Once I do, though, I will return and post a note with directions on where to find my photos ... and who knows? Perhaps after a while, I will change my mind and resume posting photos here again as if I never wrote this. In any event, I didn't want to just disappear without any explanation, leaving the handful of people who visit regularly scratching their heads about what might have happened, because that would be an incredibly rude way to thank them for their support. And while it has taken me a while to realize this, photographs without viewers are essentially pointless, which is why, upon reflection, I'm so grateful to have had an audience for them here.

So with that in mind, I offer you my sincere thanks for helping me to achieve the modest degree of success I have to date and I will look forward to sharing my photos with you again soon, as I continue the struggle to do creative work that improves slightly each and every time I press the shutter button on my camera. 8^)

P.S.: Please do feel free to click on the "portfolio" tab at the top of the page and scroll back though the more than 1250 photos I've posted here. Although many of them are rubbish (which I blame on the obsessive compulsion I [too often] felt to post something -- anything! -- as close to daily as I could manage), there are also many that are quite good, if I do say so myself. ;^)

20 Sep 14 Update: My interest in photography seems to be flagging these days, so I have put away my cameras and am taking a break for a while. 8^/
