Here's another one from my 2006 outing with a friend. It was taken maybe a half-mile's hike from the remains of a former movie set ghost town that was destroyed by a suspicious fire a few weeks before we visited. It'll be interesting to visit this area again and see how it looks today.
It's a shame all the photos from this trip were taken with a modest, 5MP camera, as they don't print well any larger than 7.5x10 and even that is pushing it given my high standards for print quality. It's amazing how far digital technology has progressed in just seven years, eh? At that time, I had just started to dabble with digital photography and medium-format film run through a view camera was still my medium of choice whereas today I use digital cameras exclusively and somehow satisfy myself with a few modified shift lenses instead of the full range of camera movements that I once insisted were critical for my preferred style of photography ... apparently not, although I definitely do miss them.
