I'm back...

well, not quite, but the workload that has almost literally buried me since last November is starting to ease up. I used the occasion of the delivery of the new Fuji X100S camera I ordered last fall to take a few snapshots as I walked my dog around the neighborhood yesterday evening and this is one of the handful I did not delete before we walked back through the front door.

Although I still carry a camera around with me most of the time out of habit, if I have taken even 100 photos since last November, I would be surprised and frankly, my post-processing skills are beyond rusty. (This photo, in fact, started out life as a .jpg instead of a RAW file, because I have forgotten how to use the RAW processing software ... seriously! While I appear to still have access to most, if not all the various B&W presets, defaults, and actions that I created over the past four years, I'll be damned if I can remember what they are or how I actually go about using them ... it feels almost as if I have just come out of a coma, so out of touch with my past do I feel.)

That said, though, I find the above photo does evidence hints of my "look," so all may not be lost. As best I can recall, it appears I've lost more than half of the people who were following this photo blog -- and who can blame them? -- and I apologize for having abandoned it for so long. Please bear with me as I attempt over the coming weeks and months to re-learn what I once knew about photography so that in time (and with a little bit of luck!), I will be able to resume somewhere in the vicinity of where I left off...
