I was out photographing again Sunday night -- which makes three nights in a row, something of a rarity for me these days -- and while I was on my way to somewhere else, I stopped to revisit this scene, which I initially saw and photographed during a rainy afternoon a few weeks ago. (You can see that photo here: http://audiidudii.aminus3.com/image/2011-04-12.html.)

For technical reasons, I had to compose this image slightly differently (the security lights at the left of the frame were simply too bright to be captured as anything but blown-out of white blobs), but I think both versions are successful, which is unusual, because it's been my experience that scenes I find compelling at night are usually ho-hum at best during the day. (And you will note I again captured an airplane -- it's the streak of light toward the upper righthand side -- although this one was taking off, not landing. I waited 30 minutes in the hope that one might fly along the path of the tracks as happened last time, but no such luck, I'm afraid.)

Splendid, I guess the exposure was long!

@Rayak: Yes and No ... compared to daylight, Yes, but for a night shot, No. IIRC, it was around 15 seconds and I was doing it manually in Bulb mode.

António Pires from Lisbon, Portugal

Anyway, the night shot is definitely better.
